with in 50+ years of buying and selling homes. Given that I live on the East Coast, I had to
give Team McGinnis complete trust and control over a trashed home I had never seen.

Kevin and Erin McGinnis are really nice people, but that is not what is most important when choosing a realtor. You want someone who knows what they are doing, is committed to doing it at the highest level, and has the ability to make your real estate experience as smooth and pain-free as possible. That describes Team McGinnis. They are quite simply total professionals.

In my case I was hoping to be able to buy in Novato, but was unsure whether I could make my dream a reality. I contacted Kevin and Erin because I knew from their mailers that they specialize in Novato. I described what I wanted and my financial situation, and they told me that they thought we could get something done together. Four weeks later I had the keys to a townhouse that I love, in a great part of Novato. Obviously that is not the typical buyer's experience in Marin, and there was some luck involved, but I am convinced that without the expertise of Team McGinnis the sale would not have happened as quickly, and might never have happened at all. It is worth noting that my transaction was not a large one by Marin standards, and yet I always felt well taken care of.

The bottom line is that if you are looking to buy or sell, particularly in Novato, you would be doing very well to contact Kevin and Erin McGinnis. And yes, they really are nice people, too.

Team McGinnis is an absolutely outstanding team. I am so happy with the results of the sale of my home in Novato. Erin and Kevin really know the Novato market very well. Erin did an incredible job staging my home and made it look fabulous on the photos for posting to Zillow. Erin also provided excellent advice on areas to improve which led to the successful sale. Buying and selling property in this chaotic market can be confusing and overwhelming. Erin and Kevin were amazing to work with throughout the process and combined their skills and talents to help us. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They worked diligently and patiently with us to find our new dream home. They then helped us coordinate all the inspections and improvements to our old home to present it at its very best. Erin's staging (included in the fee) was perfect, and the video and photos showcasing our property were breathtaking. Kevin worked with us through the sales process ensuring we covered all the bases. Working with Erin and Kevin to sell our home was fantastic. We have moved around a bit over the years and have worked with many realtors. Team McGinnis' service based approach to their clients is second to none from our experience. They listened to our needs and non-negotiables and came up with a plan that aligned perfectly; from house prep to staging to listing and closing. I have owned a single family residence in Novato since 1986. Since that time it has always been a leased/rental property. In March 2021 my wife and I decided to sell the property. I had been receiving fliers from several real estate agents over the years discussing the current market conditions and why, if we decided to sell, we should use their services. One agency that I had been receiving fliers from was Compass Reality and the McGinnis real estate team. Once we decided to sell, I contacted Kevin McGinnis who is one half of the McGinnis team. That very day we met at the house and discussed the different scenarios involved in selling the house. Within a day or two we had signed up with the McGinnis team to have them sell our house. Erin McGinnis, the other half of the team, came to the house and there was more discussion about what needed to be done to prepare the house for the market.

Both Kevin and Erin were very professional and gave us excellent advice as to what we needed to do to get the most money from the sale of the property. Erin suggested a contractor that we might use and arranged to have all of the inspections done in a timely manner. I left all of the decisions about the interior of the house to Erin’s discretion. She picked out the new flooring, the light fixtures, hardware for the interior of the house and arranged to have her gardener redo the front and back yards.

Although I was doing a lot of the work on the house myself, the coordination between us was excellent and it allowed us to bring the house to market in the shortest possible amount of time. When the house was ready to be sold, the McGinnis team brought in all of the furniture to stage the house which made for WOW appeal! This staging was part of the normal commission price of 3%, nothing extra was charged for the extra service. After only six days on the market, again the time suggested by the McGinnis team, we accepted offers. We had four offers, all over the asking price; the one that we accepted was substantially over the asking price with no contingencies and a 25 day close.

I honestly cannot envision the sale of a home going any smoother or better. This was as close to perfect as you could get on a very complex transaction with all of the various entities working together for a successful conclusion. I highly recommend Compass Reality and team McGinnis. If you decided to use their services I am confident that you will be delighted, as we were with the results.

Professional, pleasant to deal with and very knowledgeable about the local market. Every recommendation they gave are right on the mark. They sold our 3 bedroom condo in Novato in one week above the asking price. We were promptly kept up to date on all key milestones.
